My hubby and I visited this place while in Hawaii. Friendly staff. The food is cooked to order so be prepared to wait. The food is soooo good and fresh!! This was one of the best meals we had while visiting Hawaii. It's a takeout restaurant so not much seating. The prices were very reasonable. We both had the chicken and steak combo plates. Highly recommend.

This shack is most definitely putting out great food at an affordable price. But I will not leave you guys without important details! So, the restaurant itself is literally a walk up window on the beach next to the Outrigger Reef Resort. It's located in the back of another hotel. On one side of a window, a young man is taking orders and fulfilling salad & rice plates. He literally takes orders, processes payments, serves white rice and salad in containers, and writes the short order on a plastic container. Another window, the chef can be seen cooking and placing orders in containers. Each order is cooked fresh. The Steak Shack serves up fresh cooked chicken and steak as you wish. The steak is served by the number of ounces. Except for the combination and chicken. I ordered the steak & chicken combo and the 14 ounce steak plate. Chiiiiile, it was pleasantly ready in about 15-20 minutes. I asked for the steak well done. The food was tasty! The steak was very flavorful and juicy. At first glance, the meat looked a little grey. So, we were a little alarmed. But I knew this place wouldn't disappoint based on previous YouTubers videos. The chicken was juicy and seasoned with some kind of sauce. It puts me in mind of Thai or bourbon sauce. It was damn good!!! I am not a fan of dark meat. But the way that chicken was prepared....I would do it Again! But next time, I will get all chicken. I must tell you all that the meal is set with white rice and salad. There's no Mac salad or fries guys!!!

Have heard a lot about this place so I was excited to try. We went about 5ish and there was a line, but luckily the wait wasn't too bad. I got the combo plate which included chicken, steak, salad, and rice. First off, I was blown away by the great prices! Especially since it is in Waikiki where food is so expensive. Here, you can get a good meal for under $20 which is a steal in my book. I was also surprised that the steak and chicken were both really good quality. Although I had one grisly piece of steak I couldn't chew, all the other pieces of steak and chicken were tender. The main down fall the meat (both chicken and steak) is incredibly peppery. So, if you don't like black pepper, i wouldn't come here. Luckily, the teriyaki-type sauce they give you on the side helped add much needed sweetness to the plate. Overall though, if you are in the area and hungry, this is a solid and affordable place to grab lunch to eat on the beach or take back to your hotel.

Great meal for the price. Enjoyed it while watching the sunset at Barefoot Bar!!! I was told to get there early because they sometimes run out. They were already out of the chicken but the steak was delicious!!

Snuggled on Waikiki Beach is this hidden gem. It's a very basic menu. Choose from steak, chicken, or steak and chicken combo, with rice and a simple spinach salad with ranch or Italian dressing. The meat is flavorful and tender, and the teriyaki sauce puts the flavor over the top. Tangy and not too sweet. It has limited outdoor seating, so prepare to wait for seating, eat on the beach, or take it to go. Very reasonably priced for this area at less than $20. There is always a line, but it moves quickly.

A true hole in the wall spot. It truly is a shack on the beach. I stopped in around 5:30 and it was very busy. Took about 15-20 minutes after I placed my order. The 14 oz steak plate comes with a side of mixed greens and is plated over white rice. With tax it ends up coming out to be around $24. The steak itself was seasoned very well and cooked as well as it can be for steak chunks. The highlight of the dish was the sweet and salty teriyaki-esk sauce that comes with the steak. This is a order at the counter place and there are a few barstools to eat at if you're lucky enough to grab one. Be sure to have your order ready when it's your turn. They're super efficient and move fast. It's a simple but tasty meal, for a decent price, right on the beach in the heart of Waikiki.

I ended up trying Shake Shack today and overall enjoyed the food experience. This spot is located in front of the beach which is absolutely perfect to grab a bite and sit and watch the sunset - which was my plan exactly. The service unfortunately was really slow today - we ended up having to wait around 45 minutes to get our order after we ordered. However, I think for the price of the food, it was delicious! We got the 6 oz steak plate which came with rice, salad and this delicious sauce that's like teriyaki like. My hubby gobbled up the food when he got it and I really enjoyed it as well. I wish it didn't take so long as we were starving, but we enjoyed. The steak was a little salty, but once i drenched it in sauce and had it with the rice it was perfect!

I smelled this place before I saw it! I knew I had to try it before leaving. It was my last meal in Oahu and so thankful it was. The steak and chicken were cooked very well and packed full of flavor. I love how they give you extra sauce to pour on top. I came here right when they opened and they already had a line (about 10 people). Thankfully we were second in line and didn't have to wait too long so not sure how busy/wait for food could be but let me tell you it's probably worth it! This would be a great place to spot before or after going to the beach!

This ended up being one of our favorite places on our vacation. Only place we went back to for more. It was our first night there and we had just walked down to see the beach nearest our hotel. Most places were closing up so we just resided to get in line while we waited for the fireworks. It was an hour wait for food once you got to the front of the line, but we weren't in a hurry. They ran out of chicken before I could order so I just got 2 14oz streak meals for the 4 of us to share. Flavor- amazing. Perfectly cooked (mid-rare and medium) tender and seasoned excellent. Quantity- the 2 plates was enough of everyone. Location-can't beat it. Staff- very busy but still friendly. Came back a few days later and tried the chicken. Also amazing, but you can't beat that steak!

Gosh lovers, keep walking... Steak and Chicken lovers, run and get in line! We ordered a 14oz steak plate cooked medium and a steak and chicken combo. The food was devoured so quickly from the kids, they mentioned it was DELICIOUS!! The chicken was full of flavor and seemed to have been marinated in a good teriyaki sauce, which kept it moist and full of flavor! The steak was cooked perfectly and delicious too, maybe a little salty, but also might have been the teriyaki sauce I put on top of it. The meat was on top of rice and next to some greens. Would absolutely come again and enjoy a great meal!
